In 1956 three partners left Mautz Paint to start their own paint manufacturing company - Hallman Paint. Shortly thereafter one of the original partners left to start another paint company - Lindsay Finishes. From those humble beginnings each experienced steady growth through concentrated efforts of strong customer service and manufacturing quality products. In 1991 Hallman Paints joined forces with Lindsay Finishes to form hallman/lindsay quality paint. Today hallman/Lindsay is the only Wisconsin owned paint manufacturer that owns and operates stores throughout the state.

The steady growth that each experienced individually has continued with the combined company. Today we are fortunate to have 20 stores strategically located throughout Wisconsin. We have a manufacturing, warehouse and state of the art lab facility that will allow us to service any growth we experience. Quick to remember our humble beginnings, we continue to stress high levels of customer service and a firm commitment to formulate and manufacture quality products for our Wisconsin weather and lifestyles.
