PAINT MADE IN WISCONSIN FOR WISCONSIN since 1956

If you were to peek inside hallman/lindsay Paints for a day, we think you’d see that we try to let our mission and core values guide how we do business every day.

Our Mission

Our mission is to partner with our customers to achieve a positive outcome for each painting project by providing high quality products, superior business support and a caring staff.

Our Values

As a company, our five core values are:

  • Humility. We humbly strive to serve you well.
  • Passion. We are passionate about our products and our industry.
  • Unity. We work as one strong and united body.
  • Servanthood. We actively participate in every community we serve, striving to improve the quality of life for each person in that community.
  • Thankfulness. We are thankful for you and work diligently to establish relationships of trust, cooperation and mutual respect for each customer.

These values are listed on the walls of each of our stores. What do they really mean? They mean simply that we care. We are a small business and our values are what truly set us apart.

HISTORY

From the very beginning up to today, we have always taken pride in our commitment to painting professionals, our dedication to quality products and the fact that we just know paint.

Hallman / Lindsay: Then

In 1956 our company was founded as Hallman Paints on Main Street in Madison, Wisconsin by Bill Hallman, Bob Lindsay and Don Dega. Shortly thereafter, Bob Lindsay left to start Lindsay Finishes. Separately, both Hallman Paints and Lindsay Finishes enjoyed steady growth. In 1976, Hallman Paints moved to Sun Prairie to increase manufacturing capability and in 1991 Hallman Paints bought Lindsay Finishes to form Hallman Lindsay Paints. We moved to a new factory in Sun Prairie’s industrial park in 1998, into a plant that is one of the most up-to-date in the country, totaling 82,000 square feet on 11 acres of land.

Hallman / Lindsay: Now

Today, we proudly stand alone as the only remaining Wisconsin-based paint manufacturer making our own paint that we sell in our own stores. Our practice of local production, producing goods for Wisconsin in Wisconsin, minimizes the expenses and harmful effects of otherwise transporting our goods thousands of miles. We currently have 27 store locations spread throughout the state, each one staffed with great people and selling quality paint products. Hallman Lindsay Paints has been manufacturing paint in Wisconsin since 1956 and our paint can be found in Camp Randall, the Kohl Center, Monona Terrace, and thousands of homes across Wisconsin.

In Your Community

Hallman / Lindsay is dedicated to supporting the communities where we work and live. Giving back to those communities will always be characteristic of how we do business. We are a company born in Wisconsin and we plan to give back to this great state in as many ways as we can.

If you have a project or organization you would like us to get involved in, send us an email at paint@hallmanlindsay.com.
